Hearts in atlantis king7/7/2023 ![]() I doubt King will revisit this character. ![]() It ended too quickly, leaving us with kind of a cliffhanger, and I find myself thinking about what could come next. I loved the way it was told, each section noting the time progressing through the day, and as we get to see the transformation of the main character through the day we feel like we're seeing it in real time. "Blind Willie," at a little over 50 pages, could have been longer. "Hearts in Atlantis" was the second and the second longest, clocking in at 150 pages, and I might argue that it was a little too long, but I loved the way it ended, so I forgave him dragging us through the first 100 pages when the last 50 were top notch. The rest of the stories were pretty good as well. Mostly because I was already half-way through this book (the first story is by far the longest, at about 250 pages) and second because I'd read a good review of it, had heard that these stories were interconnected, and I wanted to see how he pulled that off. After I finished TDK, I went back and finished the rest of these. ![]() ![]() It's directly connected to the last book in that series, so I read it before I hit that one. I read the first story in this collection, "Low Men in Yellow Coats," as I was going through The Dark Tower (TDK) novels. ![]()
